Whether you like espresso, brewed coffee or something on the brighter side like a fruit smoothie, Avenue Coffee has something for everyone. Although we prepare many of our drinks in a traditional form, we do carry many flavors and syrups to further customize your beverages. Below you will find an explanation of some of our more traditional coffee drinks and a list of some of the other products we offer.
Espresso
The pride and joy of Avenue Coffee, espresso is one of our more central focuses. Espresso is created using finely ground coffee and water heated to approximately 202 degrees Farenheit, pressurized, and then forced through the ground coffee. Using our 3-group Synesso espresso machine, built right here in the U.S., we strive for perfection in every cup. All of our espresso is pulled "ristretto", or a short shot. We stop it early to preserve all the taste and leave out all of the bitterness.
Macchiato
A Macchiato, or espresso "marked" with foam is a tasty beverage using both espresso and steamed milk. Here at Avenue we serve our Macchiato's with slighty less milk than espresso and served in one of our demitasse cups.
Latte
The latte is a beautiful drink prepared with 1/3 espresso and 2/3 steamed milk. The drink is topped with a thin layer of foam. This drink is usually where you will see our baristas pour fantastic art into a ceramic cup, a skill which can be difficult to master.
Cappucino
The Cappucino, 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, and 1/3 foam is usually served in a ceramic cup. Traditionally, a cappucino is only as large as a 6oz beverage but you may order it in either a 12, 16 or 20oz drink at Avenue Coffee. The cappucino derives its name from the Capuchin monks and the similarities in color between the drink and the habits that they wore.
Americano
An Americano is created by adding espresso shots to water creating a drink similar in strength and taste to brewed coffee. The amount of shots utilized varies between two and four. The drink was made popular by American soldiers in World War I who added the water to espresso to dilute the strength.
Mocha
Mocha's are a tasty espresso based beverage that are carry many of the same characteristics of a latte, but with a slight amount of chocolate added, and if requested a thin layer of whipped cream. White or dark chocolate can be used in this drink.
Brewed House Coffee - Our house coffee brewed fresh is a tasty coffee alternative to our espresso based drinks.
Cafe Au Lait -Brewed coffee top with steamed milk
Hot/Iced Tea - A wide selection of hot and iced teas from Republic of Tea
London Fog - Earl Grey tea with a dash of vanilla and topped with steamed milk.
Chai Tea- Republic of Tea's chai is an all natural Brewed black tea with traditional Indian spices.
Hot Chocolate -
Ghiradelli chocolate and steamed milk make one of the tastiest hot chocolates you will ever have.
Steamer - Steamed milk and a flavor of your choice.
Italian Soda - Perrier, flavor and a little cream make a classic favorite.
Mocha Shake - Ice cream, espresso, chocolate.
The Monsoon - Ice cream, espresso, chocolate, peanut butter.
The Avenue - Ice cream, espresso, white chocolate, carmel and coconut.
Fruit Smoothie - Strawberry, raspberry, mango or peach frozen smoothies.
Jet Tea Smoothie - Strawberry, wild-berry, mango or peach fruit smoothies with green tea extract.
Avenue Coffee offers fresh baked pastries every morning from Village Bakehouse as well a wide assortment of bagels. They include scones, muffins, cookies, coffee cake, cinnamon rolls, dessert bars, crescents, sticky buns and much more.
