What’s it Worth >> Why Not? Coffee..I Love it!
First things first..heres the link: http://whynotcoffee.com/2010/02/06/whats-it-worth/. Every once in a while I’ll post something I come across, that someone tweets or throws up on Facebook. In this case Luis Till from Amauta Coffee sent me the link to this blog post at the “Why Not? Coffee” blog. I have read their stuff before, its always spot on. It comes at a time when price vs. quality has been weighing heavily on my mind and I am sure in the minds of every coffee shop owner who really does LOVE what they do.
We work very hard. There isn’t anything easy about what we do..we put in a ton of hours, over-caffeinate ourselves, sacrifice normal lives and most of the time.. we forget that we are running a business. Which is why right now I am typing 200 words per minute, sitting in my office at Avenue Coffee..while the Super Bowl is on. That probably doesnt sound like a whole lot of fun to most people, but we love what we do. We want our baristas to love what they do and be paid a wage that reflects that passion, love, professionalism and expertise.
Its time for us to do a better job of educating our customers.
