Certified Baristas

A pre-requisite to working at Avenue Coffee, you must LOVE and be PASSIONATE about coffee. The Avenue Coffee team is dedicated to excellence in all areas of service, as we strive to be the best at what we do. Our highly trained staff is required to be versed in the history of coffee and its origins, and hands on training is vigorous. We are dedicated to sustaining coffee as a traditional Italian art form.

At Avenue Coffee we have dedicated ourselves to Sustainable, Direct Trade and Organic coffee. We have worked hand-in-hand with our local roaster to provide our customers with the most RESPONSIBLE coffee possible. It makes serving terrific coffee all the more enjoyable for the Avenue Coffee team.

Micah Traylor

Micah is in her fourth year at the University of Arizona where she is a student of Gender Studies and Studio Art. She has a lot of love for coffee! Micah is a self-proclaimed “muffin-kind-of-girl,” and she thinks you should try the raspberry.

Tyler Moss

As a coffee enthusiast Tyler started as a customer at Avenue Coffee and immediately fit right in with the Avenue Coffee team. He is an obvious coffee geek, and will be sure to let you know. Tyler also works as an audio professional in his time outside of Avenue Coffee.

Micaiah Galpin

Micaiah is 19 years old and a Tucson native. She is a history and political science major at the University of Arizona working towards a PhD in history. She is very excited to be a part of the Avenue crew and looks forward to learning more about the art of coffee.

Nate Arnold

Nate traded the desert for the OC beaches where he received an undergrad degree in biology, played baseball, and found out that he sucks at surfing, skim boarding, and all other things cool. With a limited sense of direction Nate did some bouncing around in Central America and sailing off the coast of San Francisco. Nate is working toward a grad degree in engineering.

About the Owners

Mark and Jennifer Harrell, a young married couple from the Northwest Washington-Seattle area, moved to Tucson in the late summer of 2008 with dreams of bringing their great coffee experiences to the desert. Jennifer, a 3 year certified Seattle barista, and Mark, a web developer, pooled their experiences and resources to make a bold move towards their first coffee shop and business together.
